As we all know, Content is King—so it’s no surprise that the demand for talented writers is growing. With that in mind, Alanna Redenour has recently filled the role of Junior Content Strategist and is the newest member of the jWeb family.
Like many new professionals, Redenour has had an eclectic employment past. She has worked as a vendor at toy conventions and as a secretary assistant at a dental office. Redenour also spent some time as a beta reader for Fictionpress.net.
Still, most of her writing expertise harkens from her recent English and Creative Writing degree from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. This creative streak is why she knew she would go into a more colorful profession like marketing (as opposed to drier, harder technical writing). In addition, she has a personal passion for writing sci-fi short stories. “I like the possibilities of the science fiction genre,” says Redenour. Not surprisingly, she adds that she grew up on Star Wars and can’t wait for the new movie to come out this year.
In her free time, Alanna enjoys playing video games. She plays a wide variety games, but specializes in survival scenarios and shooters. Her all time favorite game is Bioshock 2. When she’s not saving the world on a console, she reads. Currently she’s balancing the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb with Under the Black Flag by David Cordingly.
When asked about her new job at jWeb, Redenour stated, “I’m excited to start a good career in the marketing industry, especially one that lets me write my own creative work on the side.” We look forward to seeing Alanna’s professional skills grow with jWeb.
